Life Is Made Of Stories

Life is made of stories, side by side and intertwined.

Each of us is searching, good companions and friends to find.

You’re a wonderful companion, you’re an excellent friend.

I’m happy when you’re with me, each beginning and each end.

As we live each story thru,

I’m happy I’m with you.

Edge Of Love

I’m standing on the edge of love,

hoping for a gentle shove.

Waiting for someone to pull me in,

anxious for the story to begin.

My life has been a pleasant one,

I think of all the things I’ve done.

I’ve been doing just fine on my own,

but sometimes I get feeling quite alone.

Now I’m standing on the edge of love,

hoping for a gentle shove.

Waiting for someone to pull me in,

anxious for the story to begin.

Each Day

Burning sun edging over the horizon.

As I watch it go, I consider what I've done.

With the turning of the Earth, the sun

provides each day.

Each dawn I stay the path I’m on, or choose

another way.

The colors in the clouds reflect this day’s

last light.

My journey on this pathway is halting for

the night.

With each setting of the sun,

I consider all I’ve done.

Homeless

Tattered and torn, weathered and worn,

this person without a home.

Silently you wander and you roam.

Do you have children, long since grown,

who know you walk alone?

Surely your mother once was near.

Did she not comfort and dry each tear?

Were there not others along the way,

to see your need for help one day?

Did you have work and schooling fair?

Yet now you sleep in the cold night air.

Is there something we can do?

To give relief and hope to you.

Homeless

You’re standing in the shadows, no shoes upon your feet.

No blanket, no shelter, nothing to eat.

You dream of fruit, steamed vegetables, porridge of rice and wheat.

Some are frightened and young, some are weathered and old.

Each has a story that needs to be told.

Each in need of kindness, and someone to hold.

Wrote after visiting with a kind homeless man about my age. He thanked me for my kindness. We each said we hoped to meet again. I gave him no money. I listened and cared.

Fading Memories of Yesterday

I’m sorting thru my fading memories of yesterday.

I worry that so many memories have gone away.

My mind is starting down a road where I don’t want to go.

I fear, that tomorrow, who I am I will not know.

Tho, when I have arrived at this new world in my mind,

there is a type of happiness and peace that I will find.

So, when you come to visit me,

don’t long for who I used to be.

Stay beside me here,

as we work thru each fear.

As we do, we find we are as children, when they play.

Sorting thru each precious memory of yesterday.

Beauty Young, Beauty Old

I love my wrinkles and my bumps.

Like counting rings, on old tree stumps,

with every line, a story’s told.

There’s beauty young, there's beauty old.

Life, is sometimes plentiful, life, is

sometimes lean.

Mostly, life, is somewhere, in between.

What matters, isn't an elegant home, or

any thing I own.

It's precious seeds of happiness, I’ve found,

and I have sown.

It's not great applause, grand acclaim, or

how long, on Earth, I live.

It's the hope I feel, and the love I give.

This life, is a moment, in a journey, with no

beginning and no end.

It’s important how, I live, each day, and if, I

am a friend.

As I Travel From Star To Star

As I travel from star to star,

I’ll remember where you are.

You're the reason why

I don’t want to say goodbye.

In the place where I’ll be,

there are friends and family.

You still have life to live,

you’ve much to learn and give.

When your time on Earth is thru,

again I’ll be with you.

A One Way Track

This train of life is on a one way track,

there’s no way to take it back.

There are things I’ve done,

there are things I’ve not.

Today is the only day I’ve got.

It’s the day to laugh, it’s the day to sing.

I’ll make the most of what this day will bring.

Beauty

Society is a fickle lot.

Said beauty today, tomorrow is not!

Today, your beauty, people may laud.

Tomorrow, the echo returns, “You’re

flawed!”

Nature’s beauty is seen in each branch and

twig,

little willow, and tree trunk big.

When time and toil shows weather and

wear,

there’s beauty in wrinkles and each healed

tear.

Each body is similar, yet unique.

Every body is beautiful, each physique.

Beauty when infant, youth and old.

Beauty in all that we behold.

Lessons Of Life

I've been ill since my birth,

here upon this lovely earth.

With great effort here I strive,

every day to stay alive.

I see others run and play,

while I sit alone each day.

As I struggle thru the pain,

there is something that I gain.

There are lessons that are learned,

and this is how they're earned.

I need others tender care,

and with them, my love I'll share.
